HOUSTON, Texas – Manhattan Construction Co. has been awarded\u00a0the City of Houston Central Permitting Center project valued at approximately $25 million.\u00a0 As Construction Manager at Risk, Manhattan will convert a 100-year old rice warehouse, located on the northwest edge of downtown Houston, into a multi-department office building.\u00a0 The building is located on a 2.45 acre site and has a total of 190,000 square feet with four stories above grade. The project team is seeking U.S. Green Building Council\u00a0LEED\u00ae Certification for this project.<\/p>\n
This building will serve as the City of Houston\u2019s One Stop Permitting Center and will be the permanent location of the City of Houston\u2019s Green Building Resource Center. The Green Building Resource Center will provide a chance for citizens to have their plans reviewed for opportunities to add green strategies to save energy, save water and make their projects more sustainable and efficient.<\/p>\n
