The Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge, measuring 10,600 feet in total length, included a 900-foot approach bridge, a 1,200-foot raised roadway section for a toll plaza, and an 8,500-foot lake bridge. The lake bridge features a 360-foot tied arch span, complete with architectural accents and lighting.
The construction work involved several components, including drilled shaft foundations, pile driving, concrete girder erection, steel-tied arch construction, cast-in-place concrete, earthwork, and Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls. The lake at this site is approximately 8,000 feet wide and up to 40 feet deep, necessitating a substantial fleet of barge-mounted cranes for the construction process.
