Hospital Punta Pacifica – Costa Del Este is a hospital facility that will serve the community of Panama City with high quality healthcare and medical services as urgent care, radiology, surgery, neonatology, maternity and general hospitalization; it will also provide supporting services as laboratory work, pharmacy, pathological anatomy, blood bank storage and sterilization; finally it will support general services as administration, user support, cooking and waste management.
The project is to be developed in a residential area called Costa del Este near downtown on a 30,472 square-foot property.
The total construction area is 269,097 square feet and includes a 113,021 square-foot four-level underground parking garage, allocating 200 parking spaces and some hospital areas, and 161,458 square feet of healthcare facilities in five levels.
The foundation is built with reinforced concrete and has a mixture of continuous and isolated supporting elements as well as retaining walls. The structure combines steel and concrete beams and slabs.
On the facades, glass surfaces are predominant in contrast to smaller surfaces of massive materials in the lower volumes of the architectonic set.
A special feature is its functional relationship with the adjacent town center that connect on higher levels of the hospital where the medical offices are located.
