Future widening of US-70 (East-West) for the WFEC Railroad Bridge Over U.S 70 required the removal of Western Farmer & Electric Company’s North Railroad Bridge Span (60-foot thru-plate girder) and replacement with a 130-foot thru-plate girder span (including precast concrete ballast decking and new north abutment). Removal of the existing 60-foot span was made in one lift and transported (while still assembled) to the WFEC Ft. Towson Plant. The replacement span was fabricated, fully shop assembled, disassembled, and then transported to the project from Van Buren, Arkansas.
