Larry Rooney is president of Manhattan Construction Group, one of the largest privately-held construction services firms in the U.S., co-headquartered in Tulsa, OK and Naples, FL. He is the fifth generation of family ownership to manage the company since its founding in 1896. Manhattan Construction Group is a diversified commercial building, civil, pipeline and specialty construction operation with offices in Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas, Washington, D.C., and Mexico. Its operating companies include Manhattan Construction Company, Manhattan Road & Bridge Company, Manhattan International Construction Company, Manhattan Pipeline, LLC, Cantera Concrete Company LLC, Spectrum Contracting, Inc., and Safe Zone, LLC.
During his 18-years in construction, Larry has worked in several different areas of the industry including field labor, field supervision, project management, preconstruction management, and market sector leadership. Before joining the family business in 2010, he worked in Chicago for a large national construction firm. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional (AP), and a graduate of Leadership Tulsa Class 51. He is a member of the Florida Council of 100 and the Tulsa chapter of YPO, serves on the board of the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce, Tulsa Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Philbrook Museum of Art.
