The Blair Bridge project includes the construction of a 2,810-linear-foot pedestrian bridge and boardwalks. The 330-foot bridge spans the Gordon River and has aashto beams and pre-stressed concrete piles spanning a width of 100′ on the water for boats to go through. The middle of the bridge includes a pavilion. The 550-foot boardwalks have IPE wood decking with cable railing. Also included are 1,294-linear-feet of paved walkways. This project is part of the future Baker Park. Also at this location is a continuation of the Gordon River Greenway, which Manhattan has been involved with since its inception. The east zone portion of this project goes through an environmentally sensitive area of mangroves, and we used the top down construction method to minimize our impact to the area.
