The Florida Gulf Coast University Academic Building 7 project includes a four-story, 60,163-square-foot structure which serves as a teaching and learning facility for the College of Arts and Sciences. The building houses eight large classrooms including math, computer, scale up biology, scale up physics, scale up marine systems, and scale up chemistry, lecture hall, 16 laboratories including Bio Safety Level (BSL) 3 labs, 50 staff offices, and six conference and meeting rooms. The BSL-3 labs are located on the third floor and the biology prep room are on the second floor and feature three autoclaves. The various laboratories have 14 fume hoods with lab work stations. The building LEED® Platinum certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
