The project included extending the existing shoreline 300 feet out into the Arkansas River to create 13 new acres of dry land above the flood plain. Approximately 350,000 cubic yards of sand were relocated out of the Arkansas River bed to accomplish this task. This is enough dirt to fill 20 football fields 10’ deep.
