Manhattan Construction Company Honored for Excellence In Construction

HOUSTON, Texas – Manhattan Construction Co. has been honored by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Greater Houston for its construction of the Trammell Crow Co.  Energy Center Office Building Phase I. Manhattan was awarded the 2008 “Excellence In Construction” Award in the Commercial Office Space Category at the Annual ABC Awards Dinner held in December. The award recognizes construction companies for innovative programs relating to construction management, quality control, scheduling and value analysis as well as outstanding safety performance. During this same event, the Energy Center I was named as one of the top three projects in the “Best of Houston” category.

“Manhattan’s attention to detail, green building expertise and delivery of the Energy Center Building a month earlier than contractually obligated was key to helping us reach our goal to deliver the highest quality facility to our clients,” said Adam Saphier, Vice President of Development for Trammell Crow Company. “We congratulate them for this well deserved recognition.”

Last month, Energy Center I became the largest speculative office development in Houston to be awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® (LEED) Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Manhattan Construction is currently constructing the Trammel Crow Co. Energy Center Office Building Phase II, which is also LEED Registered project seeking silver certification. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of this month.
