Manhattan Construction Named Partner for Union City’s Reimagine Park Project

Leading construction firm to deliver vibrant new greenspace for growing city

ATLANTA – The Union City Council today announced Manhattan Construction Company, one of the nation’s leading construction services firms, as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for the Reimagine Park Project, a key component of the city’s ongoing effort to develop a landscape for community recreation as part of its R3 Master Plan.  Phase one of construction is expected to begin in December 2025 and deliver in April 2026.

“This is an opportunity to help shape a transformative space that will strengthen the community and set the tone for Union City’s continued growth,” said Jason McFadden, Vice President at Manhattan Construction Company. “As the City’s first CMAR project, this partnership marks an exciting milestone. We’re honored that Union City has placed its trust in us to bring this vision to life.  We are proud to be their trusted partner.”

The three zones of the Union City R3 Master Plan will be unified by the planned park, serving as an ecological corridor and continuous open green space for residents and tourists. Located at Mall Blvd, the park will span 15 acres and weave together quality housing, restaurants, retail and offices.

Once completed, the property will include a state-of-the-art amphitheater with seating for up to 3,000 guests, including a bandshell, green room, and stand-alone buildings for restrooms, concessions and ticketing.

In Atlanta, Manhattan Construction Company brings a blend of legacy strength and entrepreneurial drive to some of the region’s most complex projects. With deep local roots, national resources and 128 years of proven experience, Manhattan Construction Company is helping shape Atlanta’s future through thoughtful, technically driven construction across sports, aviation, civic, healthcare, mission-critical sectors and more.

About Union City and the R3 Master Plan

As one of the fastest-growing cities in Georgia, and the 4th fastest-growing suburb in the nation, Union City is undergoing a rapid transformation. The R3 Master Plan: Reclaim, Renew, Reimagine is a comprehensive initiative designed to transform Union City through new green spaces and sustainable infrastructure.

The plan underscores the City’s commitment to fostering a dynamic, inclusive, and resilient future for all residents. The R3 Master Plan represents a $31.5 million investment by the City of Union City.

“The Reimagine Park Project is more than a construction endeavor; it is a promise to our residents and a symbol of what’s possible when vision meets purpose. This space will stand as a living testament to Union City’s spirit, where families can gather, children can dream, and our community can connect in meaningful ways. As we continue to grow, we are intentional about creating places that inspire unity, nurture wellness, and honor the beauty of nature. Partnering with Manhattan Construction allows us to turn imagination into impact, ensuring that Reimagine Park becomes a beacon of innovation, inclusion, and pride for generations to come. Together, we’re not just building a park. We’re building the heart of Union City’s future,” said Mayor Vince Williams.

The project is a collaborative effort supported by several key partners, including Atlas Technical Consultants, Inc., who will serve as the program and project manager; Foresite Group, LLC, who will lead master planning, site design, and landscape design; McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture who will lead architectural design.
