Manhattan Construction wins three AGCOK “Build Oklahoma” awards, and two “Best of the Best” project honors

TULSA, OKLAHOMA – Oklahoma-based Manhattan Construction Company has been honored by the Associated General Contractors of Oklahoma (AGCOK) with three “Build Oklahoma” awards and with two “Best of the Best” top honors for projects completed in 2021. The “Best of the Best” award further recognizes “Build Oklahoma” award-winning projects that were truly exceptional and worthy of additional recognition. The awards were presented to team members at the AGC of Oklahoma’s annual banquet on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the Cox Business Convention Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

Manhattan Construction Company received “Build Oklahoma” honors for the construction of the following projects:


First Americans Museum

First Americans Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, won a “Build Oklahoma” award in the “Commercial $50+ million” category and received the “Best of the Best” award with a perfect score in the project category.

The project includes a 90-foot-tall earth mound, gallery spaces, museum store, restaurant, theater, meeting, administration spaces, classrooms, courtyards, and a 110-foot-tall glass dome named Hall of The People. Hall of The People will accommodate up to 300 guests for receptions, banquets, dinners, performances, etc.

The First Americans Museum (FAM) was built by Centennial Builders, a joint venture between Manhattan Construction Company and Flintco, LLC. The architects for this project were Johnson Fain & Hornbeek Blatt.

Oklahoma City Convention Center Parking Garage in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, won a “Build Oklahoma” award in the “Industrial $20-$50 million” and received the “Best of the Best” in the project category.

Housed near and serving the Oklahoma City Convention Center and Omni Hotel guests, this parking garage is six floors totaling 413,360 square feet and 1,099 parking spaces. Artwork, designed by Martin Donlin, surrounds three sides and consists of over 88,000 color plexiglass tiles.

Holy Family Cathedral “Elevate” Renovation in Tulsa, Oklahoma, won a “Build Oklahoma” award in the “Institutional Up to $5 million” category.

The “Elevate” renovation of the 100+ year old historic Holy Family Cathedral in downtown Tulsa saw a complete remodel to the basement and the addition of an elevator that connects the different levels of the cathedral, basement and parking lot. Additionally, the exterior underwent a substantial restoration involving windows, masonry and paint. This project was built by Manhattan and designed by Architects Ink, LLC.
