Manhattan Construction Company has been selected to provide construction management (CMAR) services for the United Airlines Terminal B Airside Transformation at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, Texas.
All interested parties are encouraged to fill out a Contractors & Vendors Interest Form.
Renovate and expand both the Terminal B North and Terminal B South concourses to modernize and enhance the passenger experience, as well as facilitate additional gate capacity to support the United Next initiative and the expansion of United’s fleet and the up-gauging of key aircraft types.
The existing Terminal B North flight stations are the two oldest and most constrained concourses at IAH. Designed for a different era, these concourses struggle to achieve a modern level of service expectations and are limited in their ability to accommodate the United Next initiative. The redevelopment of Terminal B North involves the removal of the flight stations and the construction of a new B North Concourse that maximizes the available apron area and optimizes the number of narrow-body gates that can be constructed on the site. This optimization results in the construction of a maximum of 22 gates in a dual pier configuration.
The existing Terminal B South Concourse serves ground-loaded regional jets, including older and smaller regional jets that are being up-gauged to dual-class E175 aircraft as part of the United Next program. This program is currently anticipated to retrofit existing B South gates to accommodate the larger E175 aircraft, including the addition of passenger boarding bridges to these gates.
