In 1896, Laurence H. Rooney launched Manhattan Construction Company in what was then Oklahoma Territory. When Oklahoma gained statehood in 1907, Manhattan was the first company to be incorporated in the new State, holding Corporation record number one.
Today, Manhattan is one of the largest privately-held construction companies in the country. Current operations extend through the Southwest and Eastern regions of the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
