The project consists of 18,895 square feet of new building and approximately 15,295 square feet of existing library space which was renovated once the new building was completed. The new building was erected to the west of the existing building and it ties into the existing building. Due to the nature of the area in which this building was built, it fell into a flood plain area. The new structure is three stories tall and the second floor will tie into the existing building’s second floor level. The third floor does not tie into the existing building at all. Since the existing building was built at a different flood plain level, at the time of construction, the existing first floor level does not tie into the new building at all. The elevator entry bridges the two buildings together.
