Government by the Numbers Infographic

Government

Manhattan has a long history of constructing government facilities, beginning with the first Oklahoma State Capitol in Guthrie, Oklahoma in 1907. The building was constructed in three short months, just in time for the first session of the legislature. The project came in  under budget, saving $317. In 1907 this was a sizeable amount of money. The paint was still drying as legislators held their first session. The building stands today and is one of Oklahoma’s most notable landmarks.

Since then, Manhattan has constructed more than 300 government facilities across the nation, including the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C. Many of the courthouses constructed by Manhattan have become historical landmarks. Manhattan constructs facilities that communities can take pride in for generations to come.
