ABC of Oklahoma presents Manhattan Construction Group with 2019 national safety honors and seven “Excellence In Construction” awards

TULSA, OKLAHOMA – Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) of Oklahoma has honored Manhattan Construction Group companies with seven 2019 Excellence in Construction Awards and national safety honors. The awards were presented to Manhattan Construction Company and Cantera Concrete Company at the ABC Oklahoma Excellence in Construction Awards Banquet on Thursday, October 24, 2019, in the Osage Casino Hotel Skyline Event Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Manhattan Construction Company received the ABC STEP Diamond Safety Award – the highest honor in the ABC Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Awards program. According to the ABC 2019 Safety Performance Report, STEP Diamond Achievers are 680% safer than the industry average. This is the ninth consecutive year that Manhattan Construction Co. has earned this honor.

Manhattan Construction Company won 2019 ABC Oklahoma “Excellence in Construction” awards for construction of the following projects:

SEVEN6MAIN in Owasso, Oklahoma, in the “Commercial $10 – $25 million” category.

Built by Manhattan Construction Company and designed by Selser Schaefer Architects, this project includes a 41,000-square-foot commercial and residential project in Owasso’s downtown Rosebud District. The three-story, brick facade complex also features restaurant SMOKE and a new diner MAD EATS, retail space, office space for tenant build-out and ten luxury apartments, each with a detached garage.

St. John Sterile Processing and Materials Management Renovation in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the “Healthcare $2 – $5 million” category.

Built by Manhattan Construction Company and designed by HKS, Inc., this project includes a three-phase renovation of the Ground Level of the Chapman Tower at St. John Medical Center. The renovations included a 5,900-square-foot temporary processing area and a 15,200-square-foot renovation of the existing Sterile Processing and Material Management area.  The team worked closely with the Surgical Services department to avoid any disruption to this critical service line.

BOK Center Improvements in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the “Renovation $2 – $10 million” category.

Manhattan Construction Company in a joint venture with Flintco, known as Tulsa Vision Builders, served as construction manager, and GH2 was the architect for this project. It included two-phased interior renovation of the ONEOK Club space. Phase I consists of two luxury suites on both the east and west side of the ONEOK Club. The four suites combined are 1,800 square feet. Phase II includes the 4,000-square-foot interior remodel of the existing ONEOK Club, including the bar, seating area, buffet, storage, and restrooms.

Arvest Bank Parking Garage in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the “Commercial $2 – $5 million” category.

Built by Manhattan Construction Company and designed by Davies Architects, this project includes a new four-story, 178-space precast parking garage located in downtown Tulsa. In addition to finished precast surfaces, the garage also features storefront glass, metal panel trellis, and extensive lighting. Two sky bridges connect the garage to Arvest’s current office building on the second and fourth levels.

McBride Orthopedic Hospital – Ambulatory Surgery Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in the “Healthcare $15 to $25 million” category.

Built by Manhattan Construction and designed by REES, the new McBride Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is a 35,675-square-foot, single-story building comprised of six operating rooms, recovery/prep rooms, business offices and mechanical and electrical support areas.

Cantera Concrete Company received the ABC STEP Gold Level Safety Award and won the 2019 ABC Oklahoma “Excellence in Construction” award for the following projects:

Oklahoma Department of Wildlife project in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in the “Other Specialty Construction Under $1 million” category.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife project is connected to an existing cast-in-place structure. The new buildings added 38,000 square feet of space, and used 8,200 square feet of stamped concrete with dry-shake stain to complement the wildlife theme.

Southern Hills Country Club Facility Master Plan in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the “Other Specialty Construction Over $1 million” category.

The Southern Hills Country Club Facility Master Plan project includes modernization of structures at the historic Southern Hills Country Club. Renovations were made to the men’s locker room, refurbishing of the main entrance paving. Work also included the addition of a new guardhouse, a new 5,000-square-foot golf performance center, and a 15,000-square-foot underground cart and bag storage facility with entrance gazebo and integral color concrete paving constructed above.
