The Texas Rangers Baseball Club awarded the construction of Globe Life Field to Manhattan Construction Co. in April 2017. The ballpark complex is a ground-up construction of a new multi-purpose entertainment and sports facility for the Texas Rangers and the City of Arlington under a CM-at-Risk contract with a GMP. The new 40,000-seat, 1.8 million-square-foot facility with the largest single-panel operable roof in the world was built on a fast-track schedule (>2.5 years) to meet a March 2020 opening. The concrete and steel structure is wrapped in glass, architectural precast, brick, metal panels, translucent panels, and ETFE. The seven floors of the structure include multiple concourses, suites, restaurants, clubs, kitchens and concessions, retail areas, office spaces, and broadcast areas in addition to baseball operations and clubhouses. The multi-purpose facility includes a three-story office building for the Rangers’ front office and ownership, along with a below-grade parking level for player parking.
At Manhattan, we care deeply about the long-term success of our clients, our communities, the structures we build, and the people who build them. For the Globe Life Field project, we dedicated TEAMWORK magazine in honor of all who were part of bringing this prestigious ballpark to life.
