The award-winning U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs Outpatient Clinic is a 78,180-square-foot, single-story service building with architectural precast panels and metal panel façades. The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs Outpatient Clinic welcomes men and women in the surrounding Marietta area who have served in the military. The north side of the building includes storefront glazing and 512 parking spaces for staff and patients. The finishes include porcelain tile, laminated wood panel reception desks, and a Rulon wood panel ceiling in the lobby. The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs Outpatient Clinic’s services include counseling, dental care, physical therapy, visual health care, prosthetic care, and audiology care.
By collaborating with the owner, architect, engineering team and trade partners, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic project team delivered a high-quality outpatient medical facility ahead of the contracted completion date. In addition, the team used lean building practices and Manhattan’s best practices throughout the job. Despite the uncertainty brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Manhattan project team leaned on the experience of senior members and successfully navigated daily challenges such as shipping delays, price increases, and massive labor shortages.
